University of Witwatersrand (WITS) Applications Requirements
To be eligible for entry into any of our five faculties, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- National Senior Certificate (NSC), Independent Examinations Board (IEB), or South African
- Comprehensive Assessment Institute (SACAI) subjects
- Minimum achievement levels and a Bachelor’s degree pass
- Additional requirements may apply depending on your chosen faculty or school

Required Documents:
To ensure your application receives prompt consideration, please submit the following documents:
- Certified copy of your identity document
- Certified copy of your Senior Certificate/National Senior Certificate or equivalent
- Certified Grade 11 report (if currently in grade 12)
Note: Incomplete applications will not be processed. You can submit missing documents later through the student self-service portal.

- Use your official names as they appear on your ID or passport
- You can apply for up to three study choices; order of preference doesn’t matter
- Consider applying for programs across different faculties to maximize your chances
- Avoid specifying the program duration; you’re applying for the first year of study
Application Fee:
- South African citizens: R100
- Foreign citizens: R700
The application fee is non-refundable and must be paid before the closing date. Use your Person Number or T Number as a reference when making payment.

- Faculty of Health Sciences, Bachelor of Architectural Studies, Bachelor of Audiology, Bachelor of Speech Language Pathology, BA Film and TV: June 30
- All other programs: September 30
- Residence applications: September 30
