Applications for the 2025 academic year at the University of Kwazulu Natal (UKZN) are now open. Take the first step towards your dreams by submitting your application online via the CAO website. The application window is open until September 30, 2024, so don’t miss out on this opportunity.

The university offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses across various disciplines, including agriculture & natural science, education, economics, development, and business sciences. These study programmes are offered at Westville campus, Nelson. R. Mandela campus, Howard campus, Edgewood campus and Pietermaritzburg campus.

University of Kwazulu Natal Applications Requirements

If you’re interested in applying to UKZN, make sure to check the admission requirements before starting your online application. University of Mpumalanga (UKZN) Required Documents:

  • certified copy of your identity document
  • Certified copy of your Senior Certificate/National Senior Certificate or equivalent
  • Certified Grade 11 report (if you are currently in grade 12)
  • Your grade 12 June report (if you are currently in grade 12)

How to Apply at the University of Kwazulu Natal (UKZN)—2025

All first-year applications can be easily submitted through the Central Applications Office (CAO), which simplifies the process by allowing students to apply for multiple programmes at different institutions using a single application form and paying a single application fee.

Follow the easy steps below to apply at UKZN through CAO for 2025:

Step 1: Visit the CAO website: www.cao.ac.za 

Step 2: Click on the “apply” tab

Step 3: Read the information and click on the “continue with application” tab

Step 4:  Enter your ID number or your Cao number. then click on submit

Step 5: Click on the “continue with application” tab

Step 6: Enter All the information requested. Once you have entered all the information requested, click ‘Next

Step 7: A pop-up will appear with your CAO Number, Password and EasyPay Number.

The same information will also be sent to the email address you provided. This information is important in case you want to access your information at a later date.

PLEASE NOTE: YOU HAVE NOT YET COMPLETED YOUR APPLICATION

Step 8: Click ‘Continue with Online Application

Step 9: Capture your next of kin details

Step 10: Enter your grade 11 results or your grade 12 results

Step 11: Choose the courses you want to apply for (you can choose up to 6 choices)

Step 12: Check the information provided in the Summary of your application

Step 13: Click the ‘Process My Application’ button at the end of the page

YOUR APPLICATION HAS NOW BEEN SUBMITTED

A message will be displayed on screen informing you that your submission has been successful

Step 14:  You can now upload your supporting documents and pay your application fee online OR pay at an EasyPay Outlet

Administration fee payable for South African citizens R250-00 & International applicants R300.00

Once your Administration fee has been received, your application will be made available to the institutions to which you have applied
