We kindly remind you that when submitting your online application for University of Johannesburg in 2025, it is crucial to ensure that all necessary documents are uploaded in clear and legible format.
- certified copy of your identity document
- Certified copy of your Senior Certificate/National Senior Certificate or equivalent
- Certified Grade 11 report (if you are currently in grade 12)
- Your grade 12 June report (if you are currently in grade 12)

How to Apply at the University of Johannesburg (UJ)—2025
For the 2025 academic year, applications to the University of Johannesburg (UJ) should be submitted via the official UJ application site.
Follow the step-by-step guide on how to apply online at UJ.
- Visit the UJ online application site HERE
- Click on the “new applicant” button if you don’t have UJ student number and pin
- Click on the “returning applicant” button if you have applied before at UJ and enter your student number and pin to continue with your online application
- Answer few questions and accept the application rules and click “continue”
- Capture your biographical information and click “next” to proceed with your application;
- Capture results details then add subjects and click “next”;
- Capture educational institution detail and click “next”;
- Capture academic application details (choose 2 choices/programmes you wish to apply for), click on “add qualification” and thereafter click “next”;
- Verify/Check your application details then click “continue”;
- Create your 5 digit PIN (e.g 24689), click “I accept”(twice) checkbox thereafter click “Submit Application”;
- Upload your documents, select “yes” on the dropdown list if all your documents are ready to be uploaded and then click “next”;
- Click “Load/View Document” >> “Upload document” >> “Choose/Browse file” go to the folder where your documents are stored, choose the relevant document and click “save”;
- Once all documents have been uploaded click “complete upload”;
- Confirmation Page, end of application

Good news! You don’t have to pay any application fees if you apply to the University of Johannesburg (UJ) online. However, if you choose to submit a physical application form, you will be required to pay an application fee of R200.
