About the Standard Bank Group Bursary Fund:
The Standard Bank Group Bursary Fund is a program designed to support South African students in their tertiary education journey. This opportunity is open to undergraduate students in their second, third, or final year, as well as postgraduate students aspiring to pursue studies up to master’s level.

This bursary is available for students pursuing or intending to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications in the following fields:

- Mathematics
- Science (including Actuarial, Analytics, Business, Computer, Data, and Information)
- Statistics
- Technology (Financial and Information)
- Behavioral Economics (covering Economics, Behavioral Finance, Sociology, Psychology, and Neuroscience)
Requirements for the Standard Bank Group Bursary Fund:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- South African citizenship
- Attainment of an average of 65% or higher in the latest examinations
- Full-time registration for undergraduate/postgraduate studies
- Pursuit or intention to pursue postgraduate studies up to Master’s level
- Compliance with admission requirements of the chosen university for postgraduate studies
- Demonstrated financial need
- Participation in a formal assessment process, including Psychometric evaluation and an interview
What does the Standard Bank Group Bursary Covers?
The bursary covers:
- Tuition fees
- Accommodation (either in a university residence or private accommodation, with private accommodation subject to certain limits)
- Meals
- Books and study materials
- A laptop
- Monthly stipend for living expenses
- Transport between home and campus (issued four times a year, equivalent to a bus ticket’s cost)
